An unusal group of passengers are on the S.S. American, sailing from New York to England. A young love-sick Wall Street Broker, Billy Crocker is a stowaway hoping to win the heart of Hope Harcout. Elisha Whitney, a yale graduate and Crocker’s boss is also onboard planning to relax befor an important business deal in England.  Hope is to be married to Sir Evelyn Oakleigh and is on her way.  Oakleigh is a stuffy, hapless British nobleman. “Moonface” Martn, a second-rate ganster is also on the boat and is on the lam and with his friend Bonnie.  Martin and Bonnie have disgused themselves as a minister and amissionary but they have left behind their leader, “Snake Eyes” Johnson, Public Enemy 1.
